A MacBook Pro is usually somebody's working machine, so the first thing we establish is how quickly you need it back and whether the repair can be done in front of you. Every visit starts with a free diagnosis at your home or office: what has actually failed, whether it is worth repairing, and a fixed price for parts and labour before any work begins. If the honest answer is that the repair does not make economic sense against the age of the machine, we say so.

The Pro line has its own well-known weak points and we see them constantly. Butterfly keyboards on the 2016–2019 models that repeat or drop keys. Touch Bars that stop responding. Flexgate display cables. Thermal throttling on the higher-end Intel 15-inch and 16-inch machines, where dried-out paste and a fan full of dust turn a fast Mac into a slow, loud one. Batteries that swell and lift the trackpad. Most of these are fixed on-site in a single visit.

Board-level work is where a MacBook Pro genuinely needs a workshop rather than a kitchen table. Liquid damage, a Mac that shows no sign of life, a failed charging circuit or a short on the board all need a microscope, proper rework equipment and time. We take those away, keep you updated, and return the machine fully tested. Around three in ten of our jobs go this route; the rest are finished in your home or office.

On the M1, M2 and M3 Pros there is one thing worth knowing upfront: memory and storage are soldered to the board, so they cannot be upgraded later and a storage failure is a board-level job. That makes a current backup more important on Apple Silicon than it ever was on the Intel machines. Whatever the repair, it carries our 90-day parts-and-labour warranty, there is no callout charge, and nothing to pay if we cannot fix it.
